First though let me tell you a little story…
There was once a young girl who dreamed of nothing but being creative. She had big creative dreams but no way of knowing how to fulfil them.
She liked to draw where ever she was onto whatever she could find.
Academically she wasn’t that interest and hated school but she knew that she had to get five good grades to put her through to college. When results day came around she was excited to learn she had made her grades and was going to college to study Graphic Design.
Those years where the best and she created so much and met some life long friends, one of which she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. His name is Matthew.
Throughout the years of college she got to visit some wonderful places, companies and people such as Pentagram, Adam & Eve, Tate Modern, Design Museum, V & A Museum, London, Paris to name a few. The class went on regular trips and worked with fabulous creatives.
Now this young girl was turning into a young strong headed women and was set on going to university. Luckily for her she got there with the grades that she had in college and proceed to learn all about Illustration for a further 2 years. Now in that time it wasn’t all cupcakes and rainbows and nothing ever ran smoothly but she enjoyed her time and was sad when it all ended and she had to go out into the big bad world.
Clearly she wasn’t ready for the creative world and was unsure as to what to do with herself and were she fitted in. So she took it day by day, mundane job by mundane job and built up her skills and creativity when she had the chance.
In the last year she began to create more and more trying to find her style and coming to the conclusion that she wasn’t a Graphic Design or an Illustrator but an Artist. Now she couldn’t have discovered this without the help of a wonderful online community named Get Messy. Being apart of Get Messy has helped her grow in confidence within herself and her art and she can’t thank the wonderful creators and other artists enough for there support and help.
She has grown and grown within her art and is finally feeling that she may just have a place in the creative world.
So everyday she is building her skills and art work to hopefully inspire others and sell.
and that my friends is Emma’s Story of how she started off in her creative life and I am sure there will be more to add in the future…
