As my name would suggest I love patterns and paper but using patterns in my work has always been there but not the focal point. Whilst being a member of Get Messy they have opened me up to many different artists, journalists and creative platforms. One of my favourite’s is CreativeBug. They have a fabulous selection of classes that are both interesting and easy to watch and follow along with. I’ve been following a particular artist named Lisa Congdon. Her style and artwork relates to myself on so many levels and I like how free and experimental she is when teaching.
I have been following along with Lisa’s 30 Day Pattern Class over on CreativeBug. Whilst in Wales last weekend I’ve mainstreamed creating in my handbound leather journal. Below are pictures of the patterns I’ve been practicing….
This weekend coming I’m going to spend more time on my patterns and hopefully make so larger pieces using watercolour or acrylic.
Do you have a series of go to patterns you use in your art journal ? What art’s do you relate to ? Let me know in the comments.
